What is CEQ?
The Committee on Environmental Quality (CEQ) is a committee consisting of faculty, students, and staff who serve in an advisory capacity to the University administration to promote greater understanding among members of the University community of the importance of living, working, learning, and teaching in an environmentally responsible manner.
What is CEQ doing in 2006-2007?
CEQ members have identified many exciting potential projects for 2006-2007 and beyond. These projects involve energy issues, waste reduction, campus construction, and other areas. Teams have been created to work on individual projects and, if appropriate, develop proposals to implement them. Funding for these projects may come from a combination of CEQ's remaining funds, money that is being made available for this purpose by the Chancellor's office, and support from other university departments and organizations that we partner with. Learn more about our current projects.
What did CEQ do in 2005-2006?
The Committee on Environmental Quality had its strongest year ever in 2005-2006, highlighted by the reorganization of the committee and the successful project to introduce renewable energy to the university. CEQ is uniquely positioned to begin implementing parts of the vision expressed by the Environmental Education and Research Working Group to make university operations more sustainable and to educate the campus community about environmental issues.
